Usual reason is SELinux blocks access to certain modules or classes from loading. Please disable SELinux - AliEn does not support SELinux. If you want or have to use it nevertheless, please ensure all necessary resources for Perl and AliEn are unblocked by SELinux.

Many times we've seen this problem connected to a wrong glibc version on the Linux machine. Currently,
AliEn requires glibc version 2.6 as provided e.g. by SLC5. Please update your glibc or machine.

If you want to run on a not owned installation, you just need to set a permanent environment:

It's not possible, you'll see only if it fails.

It should be still valid, but check the DB. If a host proxy is over, your proxy is as well.
